Summer Solstice FAQs

What is Summer Solstice?

Summer Solstice is one of DMVA’s signature annual events – the way we welcome summer to Southern California. Guests enjoy delectable tastes from Del Mar’s highly regarded restaurants, sips from local wineries, breweries and distilleries, and live music, all set next to the Pacific Ocean at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar.

Where can I purchase tickets for Summer Solstice?

Individual tickets and VIP tables are available for purchase on Eventbrite here.

Will tickets be sold at the door?

This event sells out every year; be sure to get your tickets early to reserve your spot!

What should I expect at the event?

Summer Solstice features tastes from local restaurants and sips from local wineries, breweries and distilleries. You can expect bite-size portions from restaurants and tasting-size pours from beverage vendors rather than full glasses of wine or beer. With more than 50 vendors, you will have plenty to eat and drink! There will also be live music and other fun.

What should I wear to Summer Solstice?

Attire can be casual but must be presentable. The venue is outdoors and right next to the ocean, so we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket in case the clouds roll in.

What’s the best way to get to Powerhouse Park?

The San Diego County Fair will be in full effect, so leave plenty of time to get to Summer Solstice!

From the I-5 North, exit Del Mar Heights Road and head West (left). Turn right onto Camino Del Mar and follow directional signage to Summer Solstice, taking a left on 15th Street, then a right on Coast Blvd. Powerhouse Park is on your left.

From I-5 South, we recommend avoiding exiting on Via De La Valle due to San Diego County Fair traffic. Instead, you can exit on Del Mar Heights Road, head West (right) and follow the directions above. Another option is to exit on Lomas Santa Fe and take Coast Highway 101 south (left). Coast Highway will turn into Camino Del Mar. Take a right on Coast Blvd. and follow directional signage to Summer Solstice. Powerhouse Park will be on your right.

Is there parking nearby?

We encourage you to take Lyft or Uber when possible, and there will be a designated drop off and pick up curb for rideshare services. There are also many paid parking options near Powerhouse Park, including the Seagrove parking lot on the east side of Coast Blvd. Scroll down for a map with all parking options.

Where do I check in?

Both pre-check in and regular check in – as the event kicks off – take place at the entrance of the venue, on the north side of Powerhouse Park (165 Coast Blvd., Del Mar).

What do I need to get into the event?

You must have your ticket – either printed or pulled up on your phone – and a photo ID in order to check in and receive your wristband and tasting glass. No exceptions.

Are children allowed?

Only guests over 21 years of age will be permitted inside the venue, and IDs will be checked at the door.

Can I bring my dog?

As much as we love dogs, they are not invited inside the venue, as food is prepared onsite.

Are there refunds?

We’re sorry, but we do not offer refunds for Summer Solstice.
