Morning: Hike
Take Dad on a morning hike along the San Dieguito River Park. Explore the paved Del Mar River Path that goes along Dog Beach and lagoon. Directions to Trail: Take I-5 north to Via de la Valle. Go west on Via de la Valle, then south on Jimmy Durante Blvd. Just past the bridge over the San Dieguito River. The trail is located along the south shore of the river, west of Jimmy Durante Blvd.
Early Afternoon: Grub
Give Dad a break from the barbecue and treat him to Sunday Brunch with a Grilled Rack of Lamb and an ocean view. Reservations recommended: 858-481-9889.

Mid-Day: Surf
Enjoy Del Mar’s various beach and reef breaks along 29th through 15th Streets while soaking up the sun. On the South End, you'll find over one-half mile of rock-bottom reef offering fun waves when the swell is over a few feet. On the North End, there is a unique beach break where the San Dieguito River meets the Pacific Ocean offering consistent waves during a northwesterly swell. Not feeling like surfing? You can also take a quick stroll and hop in the water at 18th, 23rd, and 29th Streets.
Post-Surf: Brews and Views
