Where To Catch The Best Sunsets

With earlier sunsets upon us, be sure to get your front row seat to golden hour in Del Mar Village. 

North Beach (Dog Beach)

Bring your loved ones and four-legged friends for a fun evening to sit with your toes (or paws) in the sand and feel the ocean breeze as you watch the sunset take over the sky. On cooler days, you can experience hues of orange and pink, giving you that perfect sunset shot for your Instagram story! 

Powerhouse & Seagrove Parks

Powerhouse Park gives unique sunset views that can be seen from any location throughout the area. Adults can enjoy relaxing on the bluffs while kids play in the "Tot Lot" equipped with a swing set overlooking the ocean. Just south of Powerhouse Park, Seagrove Park offers panoramic views of the sunset. Bring a blanket to sit on the grassy cliff-side, order a bite to eat “to-go” at many of the local Village restaurants and head over for an evening picnic. 

Sunset Seat

Head south on Highway 101 (Camino Del Mar) and just before you get to the fork, park to the right-hand side (West) and you’ll find an amazing art piece carved from an old preserved Torrey Pine tree. The Sunset Seat is known as one of the most beautiful places to watch the sunset in San Diego. Featuring its own seat, you won’t have to worry about missing a single minute of golden hour.

If you’re looking to fill your evening plans, you can find an amazing sunset view at downtown Village restaurants. Beeside Balcony offers New American flavors with a unique fusion of Mediterranean and California cuisine to compliment your view of the golden sky and natural Torrey Pine trees. At Jake’s Del Mar, you can eat dinner while listening to the waves lap up on the shore.
