Know Before You Go: Summer Solstice FAQs

Read on for answers to some frequently asked questions that should tell you everything you need to know about Del Mar Summer Solstice:

What time does Summer Solstice start?

If you are a VIP ticket holder, you have early access to the venue starting at 4:00 p.m. Note: Your Eventbrite ticket will not have 4:00 p.m. listed as the start time, but VIPs will gain access to the venue at that time.

If you are a general admission ticket holder, you can enter the venue starting at 5:00 p.m.

What should I expect at the event?

Summer Solstice features tastes from award-winning Del Mar Village restaurants and sips from local and nationally-recognized wineries, breweries and distilleries. You can expect elevated bites from the restaurants and tasting-size pours from a diverse roster of beverage partners included in your event ticket, as well as a commemorative Summer Solstice glass. And, of course, attendees will be treated to a live musical performance, all while enjoying panoramic ocean views from the event.

Will there be seating at Summer Solstice?

There will be limited seating within the venue for guests who require it. Summer Solstice is a mostly standing event as guests peruse food and beverage offerings and dance to live music. Lawn chairs or camping chairs are not allowed.

What should I wear to Summer Solstice?

Attire can be casual but must be presentable. The venue is outdoors and right next to the ocean, so we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket in case the clouds roll in. Lastly, Summer Solstice takes place on grass, so plan footwear accordingly.

What's the best way to get to Powerhouse Park?

The San Diego County Fair will be in full effect, so leave plenty of time to get to Summer Solstice!

From the I-5 North, exit Del Mar Heights Road and head West (left). Turn right onto Camino Del Mar and continue until 15th Street. Take a left on 15th Street, then a right on Coast Blvd. Powerhouse Park is on your left.

From I-5 South, we recommend avoiding exiting on Via De La Valle due to San Diego County Fair traffic. Instead, you can exit on Del Mar Heights Road, head West (right) and follow the directions above. Another option is to exit on Lomas Santa Fe and take Coast Highway 101 south (left). Coast Highway will turn into Camino Del Mar. Take a right on Coast Blvd. and Powerhouse Park will be on your right.

Is there parking nearby?

We encourage you to carpool and take Lyft or Uber when possible, and there will be a designated drop off and pick up curb for rideshare services on the east side of Coast Blvd., across the street from Powerhouse Park. There are also many paid parking options near the venue, including the Seagrove parking lot on the east side of Coast Blvd.

Where do I check in, and what do I need to bring?

Check in for both VIP and general admission takes place at the entrance of the venue at Powerhouse Park (1658 Coast Blvd, Del Mar); just follow the signs and the pathway from the street. You must have your ticket – either printed or pulled up on your phone – and a photo ID or driver’s license in order to check in and receive your wristband and commemorative tasting glass. No exceptions.

Can I pick up my wristband early?

Unfortunately no. Please queue up at the entrance, where we will be able to check you in and let you into the venue promptly at 4:00 p.m. for VIP and 5:00 p.m. for general admission.

Will tickets be available at the door?

Summer Solstice sells out every year, so we cannot guarantee tickets will be available the day of the event. If so, there will be an extremely limited quantity and they will be priced higher (prices will increase at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20) so don’t wait!

Are children allowed?

Del Mar Summer Solstice is a 21-and-up event. Only guests over 21 years of age will be permitted inside the venue, and IDs will be checked at the door. No exceptions.

Can I bring my dog?

As much as we love dogs, they are not invited inside the venue, as food is prepared onsite. No exceptions.

What are the event’s COVID-19 policies?

Summer Solstice takes place entirely outdoors, with plenty of room to move. DMVA will be following local, state and CDC COVID-19 health and safety guidelines in order to make this event safe for attendees. Please stay home if you are experiencing COVID-like symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Thank you for helping stop the spread.

Are there refunds?

We're sorry, but we do not offer refunds for Summer Solstice; however, we will gladly transfer your tickets to a friend or family member who can attend. Please email events@visitdelmarvillage.com by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19th with the first and last name and email address of the person to whom you would like to transfer your tickets.
