Breeders’ Cup Festival Week
The Breeders’ Cup Festival Week will take place in Del Mar, California October 28 through November 3, 2024. The festival week will have a series of celebratory events, all culminating in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on November 1 and 2 at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.
Seaside Parking + Transportation
Del Mar Race Track is located in Del Mar, California, 20 miles north of San Diego. The racetrack is bound by Jimmy Durante Boulevard and Via de la Valle and is located just west of the Del Mar Fairgrounds and the San Diego Freeway (I-5).
Information on Ride Share Drop Off designated areas in Del Mar Village will be available soon.

Volunteer Opportunities
Breeders’ Cup Ambassadors
Dates: Tuesday, October 28 - Saturday, November 2, 2024
Times: 3-hour shift, either 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 2:00 to 5:00 PM
Responsibility: Answering visitor questions about and providing information related to the Breeders' Cup and Del Mar Village. DMVA will provide all materials, as well as a training in October.
Opening Ceremonies Volunteers
Event Date: Saturday, November 2, 2024
Rehearsal Date: Tuesday, October 29 or Wednesday, October 30, 2024 (date/time to be specified by Breeders' Cup)
Responsibility: Help unfurl 16 individual country flags on the main track. Each flag is about 15’x6’ and requires 6-7 people to hold. Volunteers must be physically capable of standing for a period of time and unfurling the flags.
Breeders Cup Hosts
Event Dates: Friday, November 1 - Saturday, November 2, 2024
Times: Approximately 9:00 AM through final race
Responsibility: Volunteers get paired with horse owners to be their hosts throughout the event, shepherding them before and after races and acting as a resource during race day. Seeking hospitality-driven individuals who will navigate the track for each event day.
